Gorgeous wood interiors!
As we’ve been remodeling our house (at a snails pace) over the last several years, I’ve become more and more drawn to spaces with strong wood elements. Walls of plywood with integrated shelving, wood plank ceilings, wood cladding, and everything in between.
There’s something about it that feels so warm to me. Bringing nature into you home in that way, with a material that can stand out or blend in seamlessly. Case in point, every single home in this post.

It’s honestly hard to believe that this space (above) was once a carpeted garage. After an overhaul, using sheets of plywood and plenty of cork, its now a stunning backyard retreat.
The marine-grade plywood creates an unfussy, artistic vibe, but is also highly practical for the environment, given it’s a garage. Did you know marine-grade plywood is the most water-resistant form of plywood? Which is why its often used on boats – this material really holds up!

Wall to wall wood in this pint-size (compared to the rest of the home) guest bathroom is the perfect amount of cozy. The elongated mirror helps add to the drama of this space as well, with the taller ceilings. What do you think of this one?

I cannot overstate how in love I am with this floor-to-ceiling built-in. Especially with the addition of the vertical split doors. Who wouldn’t want to shut those doors and cozy up with a book for a while?

On a smaller scale, but still impactful… The DIY bookshelves in our detached office / sitting area is probably one of my favorite projects to date.
We desperately needed storage in this space and wanted to warm up the cold, concrete floors. So we installed engineered hardwood and then shortly thereafter, this built-in.
This house was once an old shearing shed in New Zealand! That is until architect, Ben Daly (of Palace Electric), got a hold of it. Now, it’s a character-filled home for him and his family, with something a little unexpected around every corner. In the best possible way.

The wood cabinetry in the holiday home of Courtney Adamo pairs perfectly with the muted terrazzo floors. But for me, its all about the fit-everything open shelving. I could house a lot of pottery on those shelves.

The home of art director Jessica Lillico and photographer Sean Fennessy is such a dream! It was originally designed by architect Alistair Knox in the 60s and features gorgeous wood throughout.

And finally… This entryway is from the same home (of Lillico and Fennessy) and I love everything about it.

That said, I realize all-wood-everything isn’t for everyone. So I’m curious to know what you think?
Do you love the way that wood has made such a comeback in interiors lately or does it feel dated to you? Clearly, I’m strongly in the camp of the former.
