Last month a rumor claimed Redmi would launch the K50i 5G in India soon, and that it would be a rebranded Redmi Note 11T Pro, which arrived in China back in May. Today a new rumor ups the ante by saying the K50i 5G is actually a rebranded Redmi Note 11T Pro+, which also landed in China in May.
But wait, there’s more! The same source also says the launch will happen on July 20, with the first sale taking place on July 22. As this rumor hasn’t been confirmed yet, do take it with a grain of salt. That said, Redmi and Poco love to play the rebranding game, so it wouldn’t surprise us at all if something like this did actually end up happening.
Over in China, the Redmi Note 11T Pro and the Redmi Note 11T Pro+ are basically the same phone, except the former has a 5,080 mAh battery with 67W charging, and the latter is equipped with a 4,400 mAh cell that charges at 120W. So whichever of these the Redmi K50i 5G is based on, it will have a 6.6-inch 1080×2460 144 Hz IPS LCD touchscreen, the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC, a triple rear camera system (64 MP main, 8 MP ultrawide, 2 MP macro), and a 16 MP selfie snapper.
Today’s rumor tells us that the Redmi K50i will come in two RAM/storage versions: 6/128GB and 8/256GB. It will be available in Phantom Blue, Stealth Black, and Quick Silver.
