Earlier in June, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returned to the U.K. for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. It was their first time bringing their youngest child, Lilibet, to meet the royal family. Lilibet turned 1-year-old on her visit, and got to meet her great-grandmother the queen and her grandfather, Prince Charles. It was reportedly an emotional moment for Charles.

“It was a fantastic visit. The prince was delighted to see his grandson and meet his granddaughter for the first time,” a royal source told People, saying that it was “wonderful” to have the Duke and Duchess of Sussex back in the fold.

The source continued, “The Prince and the Duchess [of Cornwall] were absolutely thrilled to see them.”

Charles was also thrilled to see the couple’s son, Archie, who hasn’t been back to the U.K. since he was 6-months-old.

“It was very special to have some time with him,” said the source. “He hadn’t met Lilibet, his granddaughter, and so to meet her for the first time was very emotional—it was a wonderful thing.”

Lilibet is named after Queen Elizabeth, who used the moniker as a childhood nickname.

Other news of the Sussexes from a palace source is that they have now achieved financial independence from Prince Harry’s roots. They chose to step down from their roles as working members of the royal family and moved to Montecito, California. It’s believed they paid for their own journey to the Jubilee to join the festivities.

“Great credit to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” this source said. “When they decided they wanted to live overseas and forge an independent path, independent of support from the royal family, they said they wanted to transition to financial independence. And that they have achieved.”
