Get your sweet tooths ready, because Jennifer Lopez’s nails look like the most delicious treat. I’m not sure when we started naming manicure colors and trends after food, but her new “chocolate cherry” manicure fits right in with the glazed donuts and blueberry milk nails of yore.

Lopez’s moody winter manicure comes courtesy her go-to manicurist Tom Bachik, who shared a pic of the fresh set on Instagram. It’s been awhile since the star went for a dark shade; she’s been sticking to more neutral tones and shorter lengths as of late, but the chocolate cherry mani is the total opposite of her signature nudes.

Bachik used Aprés Nail’s Gel-X Natural Coffin Medium Tips to extend the length of the star’s natural nails, then applied the brand’s Gel Couleur in the shade Blood Moon, essentially turning Lopez’s nails into shiny chocolate-covered cherries that look good enough to eat. Though Bachik dubbed them “chocolate cherry,” Lopez hopped into his IG comments to say she’s calling them “cherry chocolate.” Either way, they’re delicious—and they’d be a great choice for Valentine’s Day, especially if your manicure preferences run more “goth romance” than “pastel candy hearts.”

Lopez’s color of choice is right on trend for the winter season; many nail pros cited similar shades, like black cherry and espresso brown, as popular picks for the colder months. The chocolate cherry manicure is the best of both worlds: Is it red? Yes. Is it brown? Also yes. (It also looks great with her jeans and cable-knit sweater.)

Though Lopez typically gravitates toward nude shades or opulent, rhinestone-laden sets, she’s also embraced coffee-inspired colors as part of her manicure repertoire. For NYFW 2023, Lopez and Bachik whipped up a cozy chai latte-inspired set, and I’m still thinking about her dulce de leche nails from a few years ago. But this chocolate cherry manicure is the ultimate sweet treat: classic, glamorous, and a little bit edgy. Yum!
