My name is Chris Buscemi, and I live in Wells, Maine. You have posted my photos in the past (see A Profusion of Pink in Maine). Here are some of my favorite photos this year so far.

pink coneflowers in front of white Adirondack chairs This is in my front yard. I planted a pollinator garden full of pink coneflowers (Echinacea purpurea, Zones 3–8) and different-colored phlox (Phlox paniculata, Zones 4–8) and grasses. It is overflowing with bees, butterflies, and my favorite hummingbird sphinx moth.

shade garden bed with purple flowers and bright ornamental grassMy favorite annual for shade is Browalia speciosa (Zones 9–10). Here it is blooming next to a big clump of Hakonechloa macra (Zones 5–9).

large, light yellow peony flowerIn spring my ‘Bartzella’ peony (Paeonia ‘Bartzella’, Zones 3–9) bloomed for the first time. I purchased it bare root three years ago.
