vivo introduced the X Fold3 series in late March and the company finally brought its foldables outside China with the X Fold3 Pro’s debut in India and Indonesia.

We received a unit for review, and here are our first impressions before handing the device to the review team.

As an international unit, the vivo X Fold3 Pro ships with Funtouch 14 based on Android 14, whereas in China it comes with Origin OS 4. Our unit is specifically for the Indian market and includes some pre-loaded apps that will not be available in other regions, such as Myntra.

Our unit comes in the Plain Black color and its retail package includes a 120W FlashCharge adapter and a protective faux leather case with transparent edges, which fits snugly and provides good protection.

The vivo X Fold3 Pro is thinner than its predecessor, measuring 11.2 mm when folded and 5.2 mm when unfolded. There’s also a vanilla X Fold3 model, which is even thinner but will remain exclusive to the domestic market.

There are two OLED panels on board – the 8.03″ foldable inner display and the 6.53″ cover display. Each display has an embedded fingerprint scanner, as in the previous model.

One of the most impressive features of the X Fold3 Pro is its battery. It boasts a significantly increased capacity of 5,700 mAh – the silicon-carbon tech enabling higher energy density. The device supports 100W wired charging, despite the 120W adapter included in the box, and 50W wireless charging with the appropriate stand, giving it an edge against other foldables.

The vivo X Fold3 Pro is IPX8 water-resistant, comes with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and our unit has 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. The phone ticks certainly ticks a lot of the right boxes so we are eager to see how it will perform in the real life. While we cannot say when and where vivo will launch the phone next, we will provide our verdict on whether it’s worth buying if it becomes available in your area.
