Selena Gomez hit a big milestone and she celebrated it with ones of her besties, Taylor Swift. Friday was Gomez’s 30th birthday and she shared some photos of herself with Swift on Instagram enjoying a summer evening outdoors.
In the first pic, they’re sitting at a table together and Gomez has her arm thrown around her friend’s shoulders, while Swift is mugging for the camera. In the second photo, it looks like Swift is taking the selfie while she gives the thumbs up and Gomez is laughing gleefully.
Gomez captioned the pictures, “30, nerdy and worthy.”

Gomez and Swift have been close friends for years. In 2014, Swift said in an interview with E! News about her friendship, “It’s been the longest one I think either of us has had, really.”
She continued, “When your life changes … you become thrust into this really strange whirlwind where what your life is is different from what other people think your life is, and your life is commented on and your life is written about and fictionalized and all that. Both of us have kind of stuck it out and hung in there through all the different changes we’ve gone through.”
She concluded, “Longevity is something you really can find very precious and rare in friendships.”
Their friendship has included many onstage performances and other big celebrations. Gomez also appeared in the role of Arsyn in Swift’s famous “Bad Blood” music video from 2015, a project chock full of Swift’s closest friends. Gomez is very dedicated to her friendships, and is pretty excited about this new decade.
Last month, Gomez told Extra TV in an interview, “I have no idea what to expect. Getting older is weird, but I love it. And I’m finding out new things about myself. It’s honestly… I enjoy getting older. Here’s to 30.”
