Blogging is one of the best jobs that pay $20 an hour or more. I know many, many bloggers who earn a full-time income from their website, like I do.
Blogging also allows me to travel as much as I’d like, work from home, have a flexible job schedule, and more.

Blogging is quite affordable to start too, and you really just need a computer and an internet connection.

2. Proofreader
Proofreaders look for punctuation mistakes, misspelled words, formatting errors, and more. With a proofreading job, you may be proofreading books, articles, blog posts, student papers, emails, advertisements, medical documents, and more.
There are proofreading jobs that pay $20 an hour or more, and many brand new proofreaders even start around $20 to $25 per hour.

3. Virtual assistant
Virtual assistant jobs are growing quickly these days, and there is a big demand for them in many different industries.
A virtual assistant is someone who works for a person, company, or business owner doing administrative and business tasks to help the business run. Think of VAs as the online version of an in-person assistant. As a virtual assistant, you work from home rather than at a physical business.
Virtual assistant tasks may include social media management, formatting and editing content, scheduling appointments or travel, managing an email inbox, and more.
As a new virtual assistant, you may start at $15 to $20 per hour, but sometimes you might make double or triple that in the beginning. It depends on the services that you are offering and the industry you are working in.
Full-time virtual assistants with a few years of experience and a steady client base may be able to earn over $10,000 per month.

4. Trash picker
Many businesses like trash to be picked up before their store opens so that customers are welcomed by a clean property.
This is a small business that you can start on your own, and you can get paid $30 to $50 an hour. Maybe it’s not one of the most glamorous jobs that pay $20 an hour, but you can make good money.
You will need a broom, dustpan, and grabber tools, and you can have a fairly flexible schedule.

5. Amazon seller
Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer, has many, many people who sell items and earn money from home.
In the first year that my friend’s family ran an Amazon FBA business, working less than 20 hours a week total, they were able to earn over $100,000 profit!

6. Freelance writer
A freelance writer is someone who writes for a number of different clients, such as websites, blogs, magazines, and more. They don’t work for one specific company, rather they work for themselves and contract out their writing.
There are many different topics that you can write about. Some freelance writers stick to one topic that they enjoy writing on, such as personal finance or travel, whereas others write about as many different topics as they can.

7. Bookkeeper
A bookkeeper is someone who helps manage the money side of a business. You will typically be keeping track of sales, expenses, and producing financial reports.
As an online bookkeeper, you may be able to earn around $40,000 or more each year. This is typically around 12-16 clients.
A typical client is around four hours of work each month, and can earn you around $300 each.
This is one of the best online jobs because you don’t have to be an accountant or have any previous experience!

8. Transcriptionist
Transcription work is a growing field, and you can find online jobs from home as a transcriptionist.
In 2007, Janet started working from home as a medical transcriptionist. Shortly after that, she started a successful general and legal transcription business.
While running her business, she noticed a need for more skilled transcriptionists, so the idea of creating a course and introducing one of the best online jobs to more people popped up. Janet now teaches others in her online course how to transcribe online.

9. Social media manager
A social media manager is someone who manages the social media accounts for a business.
You may be working directly for the business as an employee, or you may be a freelance social media manager and managing several different company’s social media accounts at once.
As a social media manager, you may be managing a company’s TikTok, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and so on. You may specialize in one platform (such as TikTok), or you may help a company in more than one area. Your goal is to bring customers to the company, as everyone is on social media these days.
There are even beginning level social media jobs that pay $20 an hour or more.
10. Printable creator
Printables are digital products that customers can download and print at home. Examples include grocery shopping checklists, gift tags, candy bar wrappers, printable quotes for wall art, and patterns.
As a printable creator, you would be creating printables to sell online.
Don’t worry, this is something that you can do! You don’t need previous experience or be a super techy person in order to do this.
Creating printables on Etsy can be a great side hustle because you just need to create one digital printable per product, which you can then sell an unlimited number of times. It becomes a fairly passive way to make money and you can do this all from home. Due to this, this is something that can easily earn you over $20 per hour.

11. Real estate agent
A real estate agent is someone who helps people, like you and me, find real estate to buy or sell. They are typically paid by commission of a percentage of the property’s sale price.
To become a real estate agent, you only need a high school diploma and a professional license. The 2021 median pay according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics is $23.45, or $48,770 per year.
However, there are many, many real estate agents who earn much more than this.
12. Plumber
Becoming a plumber can be a solid career path right now, as not enough people are getting into the field. There is a lot of demand for new plumbers!
As a plumber, you may be installing, repairing, or maintaining pipes and fixtures in homes and other types of buildings.
To become a plumber, you only need a high school diploma. The 2021 median pay according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics is $28.79, or $59,880 per year.
13. Electrician
Like plumbers, electricians are in high demand as well. Not as many young people are getting into these types of fields, which means that there are a lot of opportunities.
An electrician installs, repairs, and maintains electrical work, such as lighting, power, and more.
To become an electrician, you only need a high school diploma. The 2021 median pay according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics is $28.87, or $60,040 per year.
14. Photographer
As a photographer, you may be taking pictures for news publications, weddings, family portraits, advertisements, and more. There are many different fields that you can get into when it comes to photography.
The amount that you can make as a photographer varies widely. The 2021 median pay according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics is $18.73, or $38,950 per year. I have seen photographers earn much more than this, though, such as well over $100,000 a year.

15. Templates seller
Selling Canva templates online is a great job if you want to use your creativity and not worry about shipping physical products.
Everything is done online, and you can sell your product an unlimited amount of times. Due to this, this is one of the passive jobs that pay $20 an hour or more.
You may be creating templates for planners, eBooks, workbooks, presentations, and more.

16. Dog walker or pet sitter
With this gig, you may be watching pets in your home or going over to the pet owner’s home to take care of the pets.
There are some dog walking jobs that pay $20 an hour or more.
For pet boarding, you may be able to make around $25+ per day for watching someone’s dog or other pet in your home. This is a great service to offer, and if you love animals (which you should if you are going to do this), then it could be fun as well!
Rover is a great company that you can sign up with in order to become a dog walker and pet sitter.
17. Sticker seller
You can sell both printed and printable stickers online.
Stickers are extremely popular right now and will most likely be for years to come. Stickers are used for so many different reasons, and you don’t need a ton of equipment to start a sticker business.
This is a fun job that may allow you to earn over $20 per hour.

18. DoorDash Driver
Food delivery has been growing in popularity over the past few years, and DoorDash is one of the largest services in the U.S.
You will need a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle, but DoorDash drivers choose the hours they work – so this is a very flexible job.
Drivers are paid per order, but most drivers average in the range of $15 to $25 an hour.
19. Part-time referee
Did you know that there are part-time sports referee jobs that pay $20 an hour or more? You’ll have to know the rules of the game, but you can referee for soccer, baseball, and more.
The best way to find these jobs is to check out community centers in your area to see if they are hiring.
20. Craft instructor
Teaching people to knit, crochet, sew, paint, embroider, and so on is a great way to make money. My sister-in-law makes $30/hour for one-on-one knitting lessons and $50 an hour or more for group lessons.
You can check out local craft stores in your area, create a YouTube channel, or create courses to get started.
21. Personal grocery shopper
Grocery delivery services are becoming more popular because there are more and more people who like the convenience of having someone shop for them. Services like Instacart and Shipt hire drivers, and the average shopper makes $15 to $20 an hour.
Like food delivery, you need a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle. Drivers are paid per order, and you keep 100% of your tips.
22. Landscaping and lawncare
If you are looking for jobs that pay $20 an hour or more and offer a lot of physical exercise, this could be a good one for you. You can get paid to rake leaves, shovel snow, mow lawns, plant flowers, clean gutters, weed, and more.
You can put up flyers in your neighborhood or share your services on social media.
How can I make $25 an hour without a degree?
Many of the jobs above may allow you to make $25 an hour without a degree. As you gain skill and experience too, you will be able to conduct higher rates too.
How much is $20 an hour monthly? How much is $20 an hour annually?
If you were to work 40 hours a week, then $20 an hour would earn you $800 a week. That would be around $3,200 to $3,600 a month, depending on how many days and weeks there are in that particular month.
If you worked 40 hours a week for 52 weeks a year (without any vacations, or with paid vacations), then you would be earning around $41,600 a year.
